so, chinese new year is all about family, love, red, visitations, reunions, ang paos, happiness, laughters, chor dai di, kids etc etc, and of course, FOOD!

every chinese new year is always a time of 'food-fellowship', every places you go or every houses you visit, food is always the first thing that's served to you.


yeah, all those food shown above are digesting in my stomach right now, urgh, i feel so bloated.

all i need now is either some winter melon tea or a can of jolly shandy, i don't think my stomach can take in anything solid anymore. so, drinks will do.


aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh, i'm gonna go enjoy my cold drinks right now. tata! will come back with more updates about my cny celebrations, very very soon.

besides studying, i spent the whole day in front of my computer. i was kinda bored, trying to think of something interesting to do. and guess what, as i was looking through my photo albums, i saw lots of photos of myself taken with different types of food.

oh man, i really do eat a lot!

the next day, we woke up very early in the morning to have ipoh's dim sum for breakfast. we thought we might be able to avoid the crowd if we managed to reach ming court as early as 7am. but there were people who were earlier than us, imagine it was only 7 something in the morning okay, and the place was already crowded.

we still couldn't avoid the crowd although we were there earlier.

we stopped by this small stall for tau fu fah since we didn't manage to eat it yesterday.

this is the tau fu fah stall i talked about in my previous post, the one where the lady boss allow us to order food from the opposite coffee shop.

this is a full blog post on the food in ipoh as i've promised to blog about it.

last month, me and my whole family went to ipoh for a two day trip, went to lots of places for food. i remember i once said that ipoh food is hard to resist, hence the non-stop meals.



we headed to kampar for lunch before reaching ipoh. kampar is the hometown of my dear friend, vinnie. dad is not very familiar with the route to kampar so we needed vinnie's help, she drew us a map which eventually led us to a food court with the name 36 stalls.

the map drew by vinnie. owh, isn't she cute? that is why i sayang her so much. (: for those who want to go to 36 stalls, i hope this map will help you.

some of the food were actually from the coffee shop next door. remember i once said that ipoh hawkers are very cin cai and they allow us to order food from anywhere?



once we reached ipoh, it was not time to check in yet, decided to eat something sweet. tau fu fah was the first thing that came into our mind.

i have no idea what's the name of this tau fu fah shop, anyone know? please tell me okay? hehe.

but the bad news was, by the time we reached there, all tau fu fah were sold out. what is this la? all they were selling at that time were ice kacang and soya bean drinks only. oh well, at least we had something sweet to eat.



on our way to the hotel, we stopped by to buy ipoh's famous salted chicken. the funny thing about this salted chicken shop is that you can only take away, there are no places for you to sit and dine there.


but they have places for you to sit while waiting for your salted chicken to be ready. you see, take away also need to wait. all because of the usual long queue in ipoh.

by looking at this salted chicken, it can never tempt you to eat it. i mean, it has the not-so-yummy look. oh but the smell and the taste were, oh very awesome! okay, i admit i'm a chicken person so i really like this.



we had the ipoh's famous chicken rice for supper. my dad die die also want to go there to eat, so me and mom had no choice but to follow him out for supper. i have never had chicken rice for supper before, 'cause i don't remember any restaurants in kl selling chicken rice till midnight.

the workers there told us that normally they will sell till 2 am. wah lao, so if you are craving for chicken rice in the midnight, maybe you should come here. but the thing is, you need to wait very long before you can get a table for yourself to enjoy your oh-so-yummy chicken rice. yeah, and again it's because of the ipoh's massive crowd.

it has been a while since i last did a full blog post on food. maybe i shall do one now. trust me, you are going to drool like mad after reading this post. haha!


'one day five meals' - a tv program which is hosted by chui ling, (i hope i spelled her name correctly) introducing lots of nice and cheap food in malaysia. anyway, what i'm trying to say here is that my aunt is a great fan of this tv show. she follows this show almost every week (despite the fact that she doesn't understand chinese at all) to see whether is there any nice food around kl, so she could go food hunting after watching it.



after watching this particular episode, we drove all the way to brickfields for dinner. my aunt wanted more variety of food, five of us followed her, so that she could order more.

oh well, i think we tried almost all of their specialties. yeah, that meal was superbly scrumptious, i would say. we ordered eight different types of dishes.





















you know what, we ordered eight dishes and six of us were eating, the bill came out to be less than rm100. awesome kan?


p.s. when i first walked into this restaurant, i thought i was in a mamak, 'cause there were so many indians there. haha!
